Reverse Tuck End Box
The default folding carton for cosmetics, supplements and retail. The top tuck hinges from the back and the bottom tuck from the front, so blanks nest tightly on the press sheet.

Straight Tuck End Box
Both closures hinge from the back panel, so both tucks close toward the front and the front face stays clean with no visible tuck slit. The choice for display-facing premium cartons.

Mailer Box
The e-commerce and subscription workhorse. One-piece, glue-free and self-locking. The end walls roll over for triple-thickness ends, and the lid closes with a front tuck.

RSC Shipping Box
The most produced box style in the world. One blank, one manufacturer’s joint and four equal flaps at each end, with the outer flaps meeting at the centre.

An open-ended printed band that slides over a tray, mailer or rigid box. A low-cost way to give a plain box a branded face, and the easiest style to size wrong.

A premium telescoping box built from greyboard shells wrapped in printed paper. This template is the part designers actually need: the printable wrap sheets, not the greyboard plan.

Six line types, one legend on every file
Line colours are not universal between printers, so every MetaSys template carries its own legend and a spec block with the style, inside size, board, caliper and blank size. The dieline shows the outside face of the box, print side up.
- Built from inside dimensions, with outside size printed for reference
- Separate layers, so you can lock the dieline above your artwork
- A 50 mm scale bar on every file to confirm nothing was rescaled
- Sizes that cannot be built are flagged, not silently drawn
Cut line
Solid red. The die cuts right through the board here. Every cut outline is a single closed path.
Crease / fold
Dashed blue. Scored, not cut, so the board folds cleanly. Keep type 3mm or more away.
Perforation
Dash-dot. Partial cuts for tear strips. None of the standard styles here use one.
Bleed
Thin green. Extend background art to this line so a slight cutting shift never shows white edges.
Safe area
Dotted orange. Keep logos, text and barcodes inside it, clear of cuts and folds.
Glue zone
Purple hatch. No ink, varnish or lamination here, or the glue will not bond.
Dieline template questions
File formats, sizing, bleed and getting your artwork to us.
What file format are the dieline templates?+
Every template is an SVG drawn at 1:1 scale in millimetres, with separate layers for cut, crease, perf, bleed, safe area and labels. It opens in Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Inkscape and Figma. To get an AI or PDF, open the SVG in Illustrator and save it in that format. CorelDRAW users can import the SVG directly.
Are the dimensions inside or outside dimensions?+
Inside. You enter the space your product needs and the template adds the board thickness at every fold, so the finished box fits. The spec block on each file prints the approximate outside size. The one exception is the sleeve, which is sized from the outside of the box it slides over.
How much bleed do I need?+
The templates mark it for you: 1/8 in (3.175mm) on paperboard cartons, 6mm on corrugated and 5mm on rigid box wrap sheets. Extend background colour and images all the way to the green bleed line.
How do I send my artwork to MetaSys?+
Put your artwork on a layer below the dieline, keep the dieline layer on top and unchanged, and do not scale the file. Export a PDF or send the AI file with your quote request, or email it to packaging@metasysltd.com. We check every file and send a free 3D mockup before anything is printed.
Are these templates ready for production?+
They are generated from standard packaging construction formulas with board caliper, glue tab, bleed and safe area built in. Board stock and finishing vary, so always verify the dieline with your printer before production. If you order with us, we confirm the final dieline against your exact board.
Can I get a template in a custom size?+
Yes. Each style page has a custom size generator with a live preview. It checks your dimensions against real construction limits and explains anything that cannot be built. The custom file downloads once you enter your email.
